Tick treatment — deer ticks and Lyme disease
Our tick treatment targets deer ticks (blacklegged ticks), the tick that can spread Lyme disease. Not all tick treatments are aimed at deer ticks specifically, so ask what a treatment covers before you book.
Why it matters locally: the Eastern Ontario Health Unit notes that at least 20% of blacklegged ticks in its area are carrying the Lyme bacteria, and Lyme disease is considered endemic in Cornwall and the five eastern counties. Ontario reported 2,369 confirmed and probable Lyme disease cases in 2024, up 27% from 1,859 cases in 2023.
